Sustainable style with Huntsman’s solutions for recycled polyester

As sustainability gains traction worldwide, leading brands are adopting a circular mindset. They need partners with the ability to transform recycled PET (rPET) plastics into high-quality new textiles that are beautiful and functional.

Producing rPET rather than virgin polyester uses far fewer resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 75%. It also saves plastic bottles from landfills or ending up in the ocean. But processing rPET fibers is challenging. It is very difficult to achieve a consistent color within a batch, especially for pale shades. Even worse, most solutions require extensive re-dyeing for batch-to-batch consistency and chlorine bleaching to produce white shades—both with a high environmental cost.
